Roxar Oil-in-Water monitor

Based on ultrasonic back-scattering technology using pulseecho measurements, the Roxar Oil-in-water monitor measures dispersed oil droplets and sand particles to provide the operator with accurate information on size and concentration of both oil and sand.

The last few years have seen a dramatic increase in global water production. Globally, the average watercut is 75%, a 5% increase on watercuts 10 years ago. According to the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD), annual oil discharges to the sea total over 3,000 tons, with a water-to-oil ratio that increased to 1.2 in 2006 from 0.93 in 2004. This ratio is expected to increase even further.

The Roxar Oil-in-water monitor measures dispersed oil droplets and sand particles to provide the operator with accurate information on size and concentration of both oil and sand.

The Roxar Oil-in-water monitor is a remotely controlled, insertion design, particle sizer that can operate in demanding environments. The monitor is ‘one size fits all’, can be fitted on all pipe dimensions larger than 3", can be inserted and extracted without shutting down the process and is suitable for installation in hazardous areas.
