Corrosion Monitoring

Internal corrosion monitoring is applied for a wide range of applications in the oil and gas industry as well as other industrial applications such as mineral pipelines and nuclear power plants.

The purpose of monitoring may be different for different applications, such as:

  • Verification of integrity of process piping or a pipeline
  • Feedback for optimised corrosion control and mitigation, commonly combined with use of corrosion inhibitors
  • Corrosion monitoring data can be used as part of data input in a (risk based) inspection planning system
  • Corrosion Monitoring is normally a requirement for safety reasons when carbon steel shall be used under potentially corrosive conditions instead of corrosion resistant materials.

Since applications and use of data vary widely, there is also a need for a variety of monitoring technologies and instrumentation levels. Roxar therefore has developed an extensive range of products for internal corrosion monitoring products. The products can be separated into two main product groups:

Corrosion monitoring is also often seen in combination with  where the purpose is to monitoring production of sand related to hydrocarbon production, and which can cause e.g. severe erosion problems in process equipment. Roxar has an extensive range of products for this application.

Roxar also has a full range of subsea corrosion sensor -  SenCorr CM

In today's world, system integration and communication is of major importance. Roxar’s CorrOcean product range has a unique flexibility in system combinations and configuration/communication options. See CorrOcean System Solutions and Configurations for more info.
